Install the desktop app on Windows, macOS or Linux, or use it in a web browser.

NextUpdated October 2026

Communicator Next is installed from the download link your administrator or service provider gives you, usually in your welcome email. Choose the version for your computer.

Windows

  1. Download the Windows installer (an .msix or .exe file).
  2. Double-click the file and choose Install.
  3. Open Communicator Next from the Start menu.
  4. If Windows Firewall asks, allow access on private networks.

macOS

  1. Download the macOS installer (a .dmg or .pkg file). One build works on Intel and Apple silicon Macs.
  2. Open the file and drag Communicator Next into Applications, or follow the installer.
  3. Open the app. When macOS asks, allow microphone, camera and notification access.
  4. To share your screen in meetings, allow Screen Recording in System Settings > Privacy & Security.

Linux

  1. Download the package for your distribution (for example .deb or .rpm).
  2. Install it with your package manager, for example sudo apt install ./communicator-next.deb.
  3. Open the app from your applications menu.

Web browser

If you can't install software, open the web app address from your welcome email in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Allow microphone and notifications when the browser asks. Keep the tab open to receive calls.

Note

Admin-managed computers may block installs. Ask your IT team to deploy the app for you.

Next step: Sign in to Communicator.
